The Mediterranean TCC Chapter had a meeting May 4-6 in Lampedusa, Italy, with the participation of 12 members from Italy, Spain, Portugal, Turkey and United States . We took the occasion to visit the small island, which is nearer to Africa than to Italy and is known to the outside world as a gateway to Europe by migrants from Africa.
Among the topics discussed were the organizational goals of the chapter over the next couple of years. Additionally we announced and recognized Nadia Ballini, who became a full member from provisional status, and Jose Manuel, who successfully completed the Mediterranean challenge by visiting all of its territories..
The next Mediterranean Chapter meeting will be held Aug. 28-31 in far east Turkey.
