Our chapter kept busy this summer — from cheering on international polo with the Circumnavigators Club in July, to a cozy informal potluck at a member’s home in August, welcoming Martin Norman back to town. Great company, great stories, and (per the group’s white outfits) great weather for polo!
Chapter Updates: November, December and January
- National Geographic Museum (Saturday, Nov. 7): Our private group tours are officially sold out, but you can still join the fun — tour the museum on your own (buy your own ticket) and meet us for lunch in the food hall from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. Just let Olivia know in advance so we know to expect you.
- Holiday Luncheon (Saturday, Dec. 19): Save the date for our chapter holiday gathering in downtown Silver Spring. Late-morning talks from fellow members, lunch delivered from beloved local spot Mandalay Restaurant & Cafe, and an optional afternoon at the AFI Silver’s European Union Film Showcase for anyone who wants to make a full day of it. Details still being finalized — more to come soon.
- Library of Congress Hispanic Reading Room (Friday, Jan. 15, 2027): Save the date! We’ve arranged an exclusive, staff-led private tour of the Hispanic Reading Room — a rare exception to the Library’s no-tours policy. Space is capped at 20 attendees. No need to RSVP yet; an official save the date will follow this autumn.
