Attendees at the quarterly Northern California Chapter luncheon enjoyed great conversation, great food at the Basque Cultural Center, and a great presentation. Samer Kawar, a very well-traveled Platinum Member, presented his recent journey to Libya and Afghanistan. An architect by training, Samer memorializes the amazing monuments he visited by sketching the sites in charcoal drawings and by taking superb photos. His itinerary included antiquities rarely visited and the stories of his experiences were fascinating. As a result of this trip, Samer has traveled to all the United Nations countries except only North Korea.
Our next luncheon will be on Saturday, Dec. 5, Trader Vic’s in Emeryville.
