The Southwest Florida (Sarasota) TCC Chapter enjoyed a wonderful presentation on Sept. 25 from Merry Jo and Dave Binkley on their travels in Namibia. Their trip was remarkably diverse, climbing the towering red dunes of Sossusvlei, exploring landscapes with ancient desert trees, experiencing safari drives with incredible wildlife in Etosha, waterfalls and glamping in the north across from the Angolan border, and visiting seals and shore birds along the coast. It gave us a vivid picture of how much variety this one country offers. We also congratulated Gary Conroy on reaching country number 150 in Bulgaria.

Our first meeting of 2026 will be on Wednesday, Jan. 28, at noon. Please contact amandatd@yahoo.com to RSVP and for more details. This will be a special meeting with Olivia and Bob Carter-Pokras from the Washington, DC TCC Chapter presenting on their December trip to Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana. The timing means the information will be fresh, and with the region easily accessible from Florida, it is of particular interest to our group. We look forward to welcoming our guest speakers, who are taking time during their travels to share this presentation with us.
