September Philadelphia Area Meeting Features South American Delicacies

The Philadelphia TCC chapter met on Sunday, Sept. 30, at Sazon, the only Venezuelan restaurant in the state of Pennsylvania, to eat South American delicacies and to hear a talk from Franco-US business consultant Danielle Thomas Easton, who has been fostering economic ties between the two countries since 1995. The group of 14 enjoyed arepas, chile-spiced hot chocolate and churros, and a succulent roasted pork special called patacon that the venue is renowned for, among other dishes.

The chapter’s next meeting will be held on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013 at 5 p.m. at Monsu, a well-loved Sicilian restaurant in the Italian Market area of Philly (901 Christian Street). The location may pose parking challenges, so please factor that into your plans. The restaurant is a cash only, BYOB establishment. Ahead of the chapter coordinator’s trip to Antarctica/Patagonia from Dec. 7 to Jan. 18, a headcount for that meeting will be requested. Please send an RSVP to jane.berryman@raymondjames.com by Dec. 6. Special guests for that meeting will be Michael and Larissa Milne , who are currently circumnavigating the world and writing about their experiences for the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Travel section. Please see their website, www.changesinlongitude.com, for more information.
