We once again were fortunate at our meeting on Nov. 24 to have a fine speaker share some great travel stories with us. Margaret Swaine, noted wine, food and travel columnist for many national publications and websites, took us on a journey to several international destinations recounting her wine and spirits and culinary adventures in Europe, New Zealand and South America. Margaret’s presentation was informative, educational and all we missed was the wine tasting!

As a token of appreciation, we presented Margaret with her own personally engraved bottle of Collingwood Whisky on behalf of the Eastern Canada Chapter.

Lynne Lim did a fantastic job arranging the meeting lunch from one of Toronto’s finest Indian restaurants, Lahore Tika.

We welcomed a new member, Janice Bock, who attended her first meeting with us. Janice found out about the club from the recent article on the TCC in FYI magazine. We continue to get more interest in the club from the media with another nice article in the travel section of Canada.com. We also were profiled in a recent post on TRAVELHotNews.com, Canada’s leading travel agent website.

Another highlight was the First Annual Tacky Travel Gift Exchange. Members swapped unwanted travel gifts with each other. Some of the fine gifts that received new homes were a scented camel, a Walt Disney World metal plate, an Ushuaia fridge magnet and a boomerang.

TCC Canada Meetings for 2013: April 20, Sept. 21 and Dec. 7

Wishing everyone a happy and joyous holiday season. Safe and  fulfilling traveling to you all in 2013!
